With TOUCH SOUND the pedestrian can request the green phase via an innovative touch key and a push button, covered for protection. The different phases of the traffic light are indicated via LED, integrated loudspeaker and vibration. The push button can be fitted with raised layouts, which inform the visually impaired about the course of the walkway. In addition, arrow signs show the direction of the walkway.
Aldridge Traffic Systems
The system comprises two separate units, a post mounted weatherproof box which accommodates the electronic control circuitry, power supply and ambient noise monitor microphone plus an audio tactile push-button assembly. The push-button assembly accommodates the tactile transducer fitted to the front escutcheon plate and also houses the audio signal transmitter.
The Audio Tactile Push button provides both tactile and audio indication facilities and emits a continuous audio signal to aid push-button location and identification Audible signal level controls automatically adjust for ambient noise and only respond to consistent increases in ambient noise, ignoring isolated transient fluctuations. All pedestrians, including those with sight and/or hearing impairments, are catered for with the ATS pedestrian detection and indication system.
